Sod Sales

We currently offer three types of grass, Kentucky Blugrass, HGT Bluegrass and Turf Type Tall Fescue.

– Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky Bluegrass is a dwarf, darker, denser turf. It is most commonly used for golf courses, show lawns, and when the highest quality turf is desired. This variety of bluegrass is our number one premium grade turf. It has a medium blade texture, has a rich dark green color and can be mowed as low as 1.5 inches.

-Turf Type Tall Fescue

Turf Type Tall Fescue has been established with the highest wear tolerant Bluegrass and tall Fescue, it is designed for use in high traffic areas. Turf Type Tall Fescue has a very dark green color with a medium to coarse blade texture. Turf Type Tall Fescue is the most common type of turf grass used for home lawns in Southern Indiana. Turf Type Tall Fescue is also more shade and drought tolerant than Kentucky Bluegrass.

– HGT Bluegrass

What is HGT bluegrass? HGT is an improved seeded bluegrass developed by Barenbrug International. HGT stands for Healthy Grass Technology, and lives up to that name by demonstrating unmatched toughness and disease resistance. HGT was developed in harsh climatic conditions, specifically to withstand diseases, pests and traffic. Extensive testing in various climates and conditions has proven HGT a winner. According to Barenbrug, HGT is the first bluegrass that can withstand or recover very quickly from Summer Patch. Likewise, by building in a natural toughness against billbugs and white grubs, HGT is now the leader in pest-resistant bluegrass.

Pickup or Delivery

We offer both pick-up at our sod farm or delivery to your location.  Our Minimum Purchase is 200 square feet, this will be 20 rolls of 2 ‘ x 5’ sod stacked on a pallet and will weigh approximately 800 to 900 pounds.  Typically, 200 to 400 square feet can be hauled in the bed of a half ton truck. (F150, 1500) A full pallet is 600 square feet and weighs approximately 3,000 pounds and will require a heavy truck or a trailer for pickup. 

Please call ahead to arrange sod pick up so we can give you directions to the field we are currently harvesting and make sure someone is ready to load you upon your arrival. 

Delivery Pricing

Delivery: Deliveries include a forklift to unload and place the pallets.  The forklift is 8ft wide and is too heavy for brand new concrete, steep hills, or muddy areas. 
Pallet Deposit is $20.00 per pallet. Deposit is fully refundable upon return of pallet in usable condition.
